Terms of Service
Last updated May 31, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of permits.llc and its data products (the "Service"), operated by General Informatics LLC ("we," "us"). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.
1. The Service
permits.llc aggregates building-permit records from official Massachusetts municipal portals and makes them available through subscription alerts, pay-per-record exports, and a free historical dataset. Permit records are public information. We provide aggregation, normalization, and delivery; we do not warrant the completeness or accuracy of any individual municipal record.
2. Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service only for lawful business purposes. You are solely responsible for how you use permit and contact data, including compliance with all applicable laws governing outreach — among them CAN-SPAM, the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and any state or local rules in your jurisdiction. You may not resell, redistribute, or sublicense raw data exports except as expressly permitted in writing.
3. Subscriptions and exclusivity
Subscription plans renew automatically until canceled. Exclusive plans grant a non-compete territory lock — one business per niche per county — which is held only while the subscription is active. Cancellation ends the territory lock and makes the territory available to others. See our Cancellation Policy for details.
4. Pay-per-record exports
One-time exports are billed per record at checkout. All sales of exported data are final once the file is delivered, given the nature of digital data.
5. Contact data
Contact information, where provided, is sourced from publicly available business filings and public records. You are responsible for verifying suitability for your intended use and for honoring opt-out and do-not-contact obligations.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its software, design, and original content are owned by General Informatics LLC. Underlying public permit records are not owned by us.
7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service or the data.
8. Changes
We may update these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
