Privacy Policy
Last updated May 31, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how General Informatics LLC ("we," "us") handles information in connection with permits.llc (the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account and billing data you provide when you subscribe or buy an export — name, email, and payment details (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers).
- Free-download data — the email address you submit to receive the free 2025 dataset, used to send a one-time access code and the file.
- Usage data — standard logs and analytics about how the Service is used.
2. Permit and contact data
The permit records on the Service come from public Massachusetts municipal portals. Contact information, where included, is drawn from publicly available business filings and public records. This data describes third parties (property owners and contractors), not visitors to this site, and is provided to customers for lawful business outreach.
3. How we use information
We use your information to provide the Service, process payments, deliver the data and alerts you request, prevent abuse, and communicate with you about your account. We do not sell your personal account information.
4. Email and outreach
If you submit your email for the free download, we use it to deliver the file and may send related product updates; you can opt out at any time. Customers are independently responsible for complying with CAN-SPAM, TCPA, and other rules when contacting people using data obtained from the Service.
5. Sharing
We share information with service providers who help us operate (payment processing, email delivery, hosting) under appropriate confidentiality terms, and as required by law.
6. Data retention and security
We retain account and transaction data as needed to operate and meet legal obligations, and we apply reasonable safeguards to protect it. The free-download access codes are short-lived and expire automatically.
7. Your choices
You may request access to or deletion of your account information by emailing us. Where applicable law grants additional rights (such as under GDPR), we will honor valid requests.
8. Changes
We may update this policy; the "last updated" date above reflects the latest version.
